Position Title: Health Center Director of Clinical Services

Statement of Job: This 10-month position involves the management of the Health Center, inclusive of budget and personnel oversight, as well as direct service. The Clinical Director of the Health Center will provide strategic direction, new program development, assessment, quality assurance, facility planning and management, and emergency response planning as part of the University’s Crisis Management Team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing direct medical care to students, and staff on a limited basis
- Directing clinical operations through oversight of the nursing staff, medical
Assistant, psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and the Mental Health Coordinating Team
- Extending administrative support through budget and medical chart reviews
- Participating in procedure and protocol development
- Offering health education outreach
- Participating in related committee work
This position oversees the nursing staff, inclusive of per diem nurses, the administrative staff member, the medical assistant, and the psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
This position has responsibility for budgetary oversight.
Knowledge and skills
Knowledge of current nursing practices, patient care, both medical and psychiatric, and health education.
Active Maine Nurse Practitioner License;
3-5 years’ experience in the field;
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated administrative skill set
Experience in leadership of a clinical team;
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse socio-economic, racial/ethnic, international, religious, and LGBTQ backgrounds.
