Associate Medical Director, (Physician)
The mission of the Student Health Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is to keep students healthy so that they may achieve their academic and personal goals. We provide accessible, cost-effective, current evidence-based treatment for acute and chronic physical and behavioral health problems, and prevention focused health education. We conduct public health screening campaigns and manage health crises and outbreaks. We strive to provide these services in a way that engages the student as an adult consumer of healthcare.
Rensselaer seeks an experienced physician to serve as Associate Director for the Student Health Center. The Associate Director provides direct clinical services to Rensselaer’s students. The incumbent assists the Executive Director in providing leadership and managerial oversight of the clinical functions of the Student Health Center and assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
We seek candidates with five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in the practice of medicine. Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution and a license to practice in New York State. The position requires that the incumbent must have Board Certification or eligibility in internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics or emergency. In addition, candidates must have eligibility for assignment under the credentialing process outlined in the Student Health Services By-laws. We also require candidates to have training and experience in dealing with a wide variety of primary care medical conditions and illnesses.
