Williams College seeks a Practice Manager to provide central administrative leadership and support to the department of Student Health and Wellness Services. Reporting both to the Director of Medical Services and the Director of Integrative Wellbeing Services, the Practice Manager works to maintain close relationships with administrative offices (such as the Dean’s Office, Student Life, Campus Safety and Security, the Davis Center, Athletics, and Dining Services) on matters pertaining to individual student health and the general welfare of the student body. This position is designed to allow the department to delineate and centralize all of the significant activity relative to human, fiscal, and legal resources required for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of student health services on campus.
- Develop and monitor the departmental operating and capital budgets
- Manage the operations of the Student Health and Wellness department and associated facilities
- Act as departmental contact for emergency planning and situational management
- Manage service and procurement contracts and relationships
- Oversee procurement of vaccines, educational materials, and medical and office supplies
- Conduct periodic clinical staffing analyses to ensure services are meeting the physical and mental health needs of the evolving student body
- Serve as college liaison with community healthcare professionals, regional hospitals and local agencies for the purposes of accessing services, making effective referrals, and coordinating healthcare resources
- Oversee the Student Health Insurance Plan and communicate with families regarding coverage and treatment
- Participate on appropriate campus committees in support of student wellness and success
- Work with multiple campus partners in the effective management of student issues
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- At least five years of experience in a related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in healthcare administration within a supervisory role is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing demands
- Possess a high level of cultural competency in working with diverse populations
- Valid driver’s license
